Senior Quantity Surveyor - Sheffield

Here at CML, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial team, you can expect to be working on projects ranging from £2k to £6m, with an average of £6k
We are looking to recruit a well-rounded individual who can embrace the commercial responsibility for a portfolio of works in multiple projects on a reactive framework. You will manage, train and provide support to a dedicated Commercial Team, providing advice, support and information to the Commercial Team / Project Staff on commercial and contractual matters, including reviewing and drafting of correspondence.
There will be a requirement to manage and produce formal reports for Senior Management, maintain and develop client relationships ensuring the timely submissions of applications for payments, operating the change process on an NEC4 contract and identify and manage opportunities and risk.
Responsibilities will also include the settling of final Accounts with Clients and sub-contractors in line with agreed terms and conditions. There will also be a requirement to assist with tenders, both in terms of formulating and review.

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a contracting environment
Experience within the Civil Engineering/ Rail sector
HND/ HNC Level 4/ Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
RCIS/ CES membership
Skills, competencies and personal qualities
Ability to pass on knowledge, guide and support team members with their L&D
Strong IT Skill especially with Microsoft packages
Strong Numeracy skills
Ability to work methodically, using own initiative and unsupervised
High accuracy and attention to detail
A calm yet inquisitive nature, who is comfortable with questioning and challenging issues when needed.
Excellent communication skills and confidence to engage with stakeholders and other team members on all levels
Prioritises well and works effectively to deadlines
Is customer focused and can reach resolutions with issues
