Commercial Assistant - Sheffield
Are you a strong administrator with an interest to develop your career in the Civil Engineering sector? We are looking to recruit someone into our well established Sheffield office, who can support our expanding Commercial team, as they take on new major contracts.
Your Responsibilities:
Within the role, the responsibilities you will have will be to:
Produce and communicate internal reports to managers, ensuring compliant paperwork is provided within set deadlines.
Produce and analyse cost reports.
Use internal/external bespoke software – including Insight/Monitor/i-Track/Structures Dashboard to process data.
Liaise with the Delivery Team regarding works executed and provide updates to the managers and client.
Support and assist the Commercial team members in tracking estimates and completions, via production of weekly reportable KPI charts.
Assist with the preparation of Estimates using Schedule of Rates.
Assist with all change control processes, preparation of Final Accounts and production and reporting on completed jobs.
Provide administrative support to various teams across the Framework as needed, in order to support the business.
Any other duties as may reasonably be required.
We are looking to recruit on either a full time or part time basis initially, with the view to develop and support the right person within the business, through to a full time Quantity Surveyor role. We are happy to discuss hours at interview stage.
Person Specification:
The perfect candidate will have:
A minimum of GCSE English & Maths Level 4
Proven Administration experience
Strong IT Skills in Microsoft packages eg Word, Excel, Outlook
Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
Fantastic communication skills and ability to liaise comfortably with both clients and suppliers
Self motivation and proactivity to support the Commercial Team
Ideally an interest in Civil Engineering and Quantity Surveying
Rail or Civil Engineering experience - Highly desirable but not Essential
